Placements24 is assisting a leading energy company in Amsterdam to hire a Grid Integration Specialist. You will support the seamless integration of renewables into the power grid, analyze stability, and develop practical integration strategies while coordinating with utility operators and regulators.

Applicants should hold a Master’s in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems, have 5+ years in grid integration, and be proficient with PSS/E, PowerFactory, and DIgSILENT.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in grid integration, power systems analysis, or utility operations.

About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated Grid Integration Specialist to bolster their team in George , Western Cape . This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless and stable integration of various energy sources, particularly renewables, into the existing power grid. You will play a key part in analyzing grid stability, developing integration strategies, and working with stakeholders to facilitate the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze grid performance and stability issues related to the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) and renewable power plants.
  • Develop and implement technical strategies and protocols for the safe and efficient integration of new energy generation sources into the national grid.
  • Collaborate with utility operators, project developers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with grid codes and standards.
  • Conduct impact studies on grid infrastructure and recommend necessary upgrades or modifications.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on grid interconnection requirements and best practices for the energy sector.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in grid integration, power systems analysis, or utility operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind) and their impact on grid stability.
  • Proficiency in power system modeling and simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT).
