Job summary

Nebul is building Europe’s sovereign AI cloud in Leiden, focusing on Go-based backend services powering Nexus, Nebul’s orchestration layer. You’ll design and implement production-grade APIs, controllers, and asynchronous workflows that automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.

The role centers on backend software in Go, with emphasis on scalable, observable systems and tight integration with Nebul’s Platform and Datacenter teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production-grade backend services in Go.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and software architecture.
• Experience with concurrency, asynchronous processing and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.
• Exposure to API design, versioning and backward compatibility.
• Ability to write reliable, observable, and testable software.
• Experience with databases, queues and service-to-service communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services in Go.
• Develop clean, versioned REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Build controllers and orchestration services for infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Design asynchronous and event-driven workflows for long-running operations.
• Create software abstractions over compute, Kubernetes, networking and storage infrastructure.
• Write automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in architectural decisions across Nexus.
• Take ownership of services from design through production.
