Job summary

KLG Europe is seeking a Transport Manager to lead daily international transport operations, coaching a small team of about 3 FTE and driving improvements. The role focuses on carrier/customer relations, process optimization, and digitization initiatives, with ownership of operational progress and KPIs.

You will report to the Senior Account Executive and operate in a dynamic, international environment focused on growth, collaboration, and delivering reliable transport solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree HBO or equivalent.
• Experience in a comparable management position within logistics or transport.
• Knowledge of international transport, including road, rail, and multimodal.
• Strong communication with customers, carriers, agents, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong people management skills and empathy.
• Ability to translate vision and strategy into operational processes.
• Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent Dutch and English communications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with existing carriers, agents, and customers, operationally and commercially.
• Lead, coach, and motivate the team across strategic, tactical, and operational levels.
• Ensure staffing levels and balanced workload distribution.
• Monitor daily output and adjust as needed.
• Advance collaboration and information transfer within and outside the department.
• Monitor KPIs and drive improvement actions.
• Prepare for Monthly Business Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Support the department in the broadest sense and manage escalations.
• Continuously improve procedures with focus on people, systems, and processes.
• Analyze monthly departmental results and propose improvements.
