Job summary

KLG Europe is seeking a Freight Forwarder (Transport Planner) to manage country groups, ensuring on-time delivery and damage-free shipments. You will work independently while collaborating closely with your team.

You should have at least 2 years in a similar role, plus fluent Dutch, English, and German, written and spoken. The company offers a dynamic, international environment with growth opportunities and an informal, results-driven culture.

Qualifications

• MBO Level 4 working and thinking level or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Good command of Dutch, English, and German, both spoken and written.
• Accurate and detail-oriented, with careful handling of customer information.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to easily build relationships with customers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Receive, confirm, and enter transport orders (creating shipment files) received directly from customers or through the sales department.
• Assign freight to one of our strategic carriers while continuously optimizing the balance between transport cost and agreed transit times.
• Prepare loading instructions and unloading lists and send them to carriers.
• Provide loading instructions to warehouse personnel and clearly communicate any irregularities.
• Fully and accurately instruct carriers, trailer operators, and container operators for each shipment.
• Send complete shipment instructions to agents.
• Fulfill all administrative obligations towards customers, shippers, and agents.
• Maintain contact with carriers, customers, and international agents.
• Inform customers and carriers promptly about any irregularities.
• Answer questions from customers and carriers.
• Receive complaints and resolve them appropriately or forward them to the relevant department.
