Job summary

Legacy London Recruitment seeks a Trade Compliance Lead to drive import/export compliance across the Benelux region, supporting broader international operations. The role requires guiding stakeholders, ensuring regulatory alignment, and coordinating with logistics partners.

You will monitor evolving trade rules, lead classification and origin determinations, and drive continuous improvement in compliance. Travel to Belgium will be occasional and expenses are covered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in Trade Compliance, Customs, Import/Export, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders across a global business.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic and evolving regulatory environment.
• Willingness to travel to the Netherlands and Belgium with expenses covered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support import, export, customs, and trade compliance activities across multiple international markets.
• Advise and train stakeholders on trade regulations, customs requirements, sanctions, licensing, classification, and country of origin rules.
• Monitor changing regulatory requirements and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Manage customs classification and origin determination processes, including regulatory applications and rulings.
• Partner with internal teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government authorities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce risk, and strengthen compliance programmes.
• Support audits, investigations, corrective actions, and compliance controls.
