Job summary

GenScript Europe division in the Netherlands is seeking an Import-Export Compliance Expert to lead the EU/UK compliance program. Based in Rijswijk with hybrid work, you will oversee policy creation, classification, and regulatory monitoring to ensure compliant cross-border activities.

You will collaborate with legal, logistics, and external brokers, perform audits, manage licenses, and advise on changes to regulatory requirements, requiring English and Dutch proficiency and a customs broker

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing import/export compliance programs.
• Strong knowledge of EU and UK customs regulations and export controls.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Valid customs broker certificate or equivalent required.
• Languages: English and Dutch proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s import/export compliance program across EU/UK.
• Oversee preparation and review of import/export documentation per EU/UK rules.
• Maintain meticulous records for audits and regulatory review.
• Classify HS codes and prepare customs descriptions; coordinate with brokers and internal teams.
• Monitor regulatory updates and advise on required adaptations for operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and drive continuous improvement of the program.
• Collaborate with legal, logistics, and supply chain teams; engage with government agencies.
