Job description

Global Senior Manager - Digital Shelf and e-Commerce

As Senior Manager, Digital Shelf and e-Commerce you will build and strengthen Philips’ global Digital Shelf capability, setting the strategy, operating model, measurement standards, governance, tools and ways of working that enable Business Units and Regions to improve product discovery, content quality and conversion at scale. You will translate Digital Shelf insights into commercial action and partner with Business Units, Regions, eRetail, Key Account and Marketing teams to support adoption and measurable growth. This is a strategic yet hands‑on leadership role requiring deep Digital Shelf expertise, strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate insight into action across Markets and Business Units. You will combine capability building, stakeholder influence and practical application to drive measurable improvements in product discoverability, content quality, conversion and commercial performance.

What you will do
  • Build and lead Philips’ global Digital Shelf Excellence capability, including the vision, roadmap, operating model, governance, measurement framework and learning agenda that enable Business Units and Regions to execute effectively.
  • Translate the Digital Shelf strategy into a commercial narrative: quantify the revenue, traffic and conversion impact of Digital Shelf and PXM investment.
  • Define and govern Philips’ global Digital Shelf measurement framework—including KPIs, scorecards, benchmarks and reporting—to enable consistent performance tracking across priority retailers, marketplaces, Businesses and Markets.
  • Partner with Business Units and Markets to translate Digital Shelf performance data into practical insights and guidance that improve execution across priority retailers and marketplaces.
  • Own the global Digital Shelf strategy, tooling, governance and capability roadmap; enable Business Units and Markets through tools, best practices and capability building, with shared accountability for adoption and business outcomes.
  • Use Digital Shelf data to identify the biggest growth opportunities and convert insights into prioritized actions for eRetail and Key Account teams.
  • Shape how Philips product content is adapted and pushed to our key customers in partnership with extended teams (PIM/PXM, DAM, syndication and analytics capabilities) to create more efficient, scalable product content that is in line with Philips’ AI discovery guidelines (GEO/SEO).
  • Act as an advisor to senior commercial and marketing stakeholders, using evidence to strengthen joint business plans, retailer reviews and investment decisions.
  • Lead change and adoption by creating a community of Digital Shelf practitioners and equipping Business Units and Regions.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Commerce, E-Commerce, Digital Strategy, Data & Analytics, or a related field.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in Digital Shelf, Digital Commerce, eRetail, e-category management, digital trading, marketplace management or Commercial Excellence.
  • Experience with Digital Shelf analytics platforms such as Profitero, NielsenIQ, Stackline, DataWeave or Amazon Brand Analytics and the ability to turn data into commercially compelling recommendations.
  • Proven practical experience managing and improving Digital Shelf performance for consumer brands across major retailers and marketplaces.
  • Proven experience in a global or regional role within a large, complex matrix organisation, with a strong understanding of how retailer ecosystems, consumer behaviour and commercial models vary across markets.
  • Experience partnering with eRetail, Key Account and commercial teams, ideally through Joint Business Planning and retailer performance reviews.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Vendor Central/Seller Central and comparable retailer or marketplace platforms is preferred.
  • Experience connecting product content from discovery to conversion, using PIM/PXM, DAM and syndication platforms, is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial acumen, able to link improvements in content, visibility and availability to traffic, conversion and incremental revenue.
  • Consumer‑facing category experience, such as personal care, consumer health, consumer electronics or FMCG, is preferred.
  • Experience in regulated categories is a plus.
How success will be measured
  • Enablement and adoption: Business Units and Regions are equipped with the standards, tools, insights and capabilities needed to adopt consistent Digital Shelf ways of working, measured against an established baseline and target.
  • Capability maturity: measurable improvement in governance, tool usage and team capability, enabling more consistent execution across Business Units and Regions.
  • Digital Shelf execution: demonstrated contribution to improvements in content completeness and compliance, share of search, availability, Buy Box performance, ratings and reviews across agreed priority retailers and categories.
  • Commercial activation: Digital Shelf insights and prioritized actions embedded in account plans, joint business planning, retailer negotiations and performance reviews.
  • Product experience: more consistent, accurate and compelling experiences across Amazon and priority retailer touchpoints globally.
Why this role matters

Retailer and marketplace product pages are no longer simply a place to transact; they are where consumers compare, validate and decide. As AI changes how products are discovered and recommended, the quality and structure of product information matter even more. This role will give Philips the global internal capability to manage the Digital Shelf proactively, help markets and Business Units act on the right opportunities, and turn better product experiences into sustainable commercial growth.
