RubyDeveloper.nl is seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails developer to design, build, and maintain backend and frontend features. You will help shape scalable architecture and work with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.

The role emphasizes code reviews, automated testing (RSpec or Minitest), and promoting engineering best practices within a collaborative, dynamic team. Strong English communication is required, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing web apps with Ruby on Rails.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks (React/Vue/Hotwire/Stimulus).
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and ActiveRecord.
• Testing experience with RSpec.
• Git version control experience.
• Proactive, analytical, and good English communication.
• Nice to have: AWS/GCP/Heroku, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Ruby on Rails backend code and dynamic frontend features.
• Help shape the technical architecture for performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and write automated tests using RSpec or Minitest.
• Promote software engineering best practices.
• Identify bottlenecks, debug, and optimize performance and security.
