Job summary

Swisscom DevOps Center Rotterdam seeks a Full-Stack Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience in cloud-native development, platform automation and developer experience. A six-month internship starting 1 February 2027 offers IT equipment, flexible hours and a hybrid model.

You will build front- and back-end services, automate CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across international teams, applying your CS knowledge to real-world backend, cloud and full-stack challenges.

Qualifications

• Final-year student in HBO or university programme in Computer Science, Informatics or similar.
• Practical knowledge of TypeScript and experience with Git.
• English spoken at a good level; Netherlands-based at start of internship.

For our partner Swisscom Devops Center Rotterdam, we are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer Intern who wants to gain hands‑on experience with cloud-native development, platform automation and developer experience.

Level: Internship

Field: ICT / Software Engineering

Duration: 6 months

Start date: 1 February 2027

Allowance: €810 gross per month

This is not an internship where you spend six months watching other engineers work.

You’ll build front- and backend services, work on CI/CD pipelines and automate platform operations that support engineers across the organisation.

At the same time, you’ll learn from experienced engineers and accelerate both your technical and professional development.

• Build cloud-native front‑end and back‑end services
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitLab automations
• Automate platform operations and integrate security into developer workflows
• Implement developer tooling and UX/UI improvements
• Collaborate with international agile teams using Scrum and SAFe
• Apply your Computer Science knowledge to real backend, cloud and full‑stack challenges

Experience with Angular, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CSS or UX/UI is a plus — but you don’t need to know everything already.

What matters is that you’re curious, willing to learn and excited about developing your skills in a professional engineering environment.

You are in the final year of an HBO or university programme in Computer Science, Informatics or a similar field.

You have practical knowledge of TypeScript and experience with Git, speak English at a good level and currently live in the Netherlands.

You enjoy working in an agile and international environment, take responsibility for your work and are eager to learn from experienced engineers.
