Job summary

NS Mobiliteitsdiensten is seeking a Platform Engineer to advance our application and Cloud architecture. You will be an all-round developer, collaborating with the Engineering team to deliver high-quality code and continuously improve the platform.

Requirements include a technical degree, 3+ years of experience, and proficiency in Laravel/React. Dutch and English fluency is expected; the role is based in Breda with hybrid work options and a one-year contract with potential for permanence.

Responsibilities

This is what you are going to do

As a Platform Engineer, you will work within the Engineering team on the further development of our application and Cloud architecture. You are an all-round developer and an indispensable link within the team.

What will you actually be doing?

• Continuously improving our current application (Laravel, PHP, and React TypeScript) and Cloud architecture (Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker).
• (Pair) programming and performing code reviews with colleagues.
• Developing new functionalities and features.
• Delve into our architecture and contribute ideas regarding technical alternatives or improvements.
• Actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

This is what you bring

• You hold a relevant MBO, HBO, or WO degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering).
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Laravel PHP and/or React.
• A strong self-learning ability: you actively seek improvements, but are also open to feedback.
• Well-developed logical thinking ability and capable of quickly acquiring new knowledge.
• Critical, analytical, and solution-oriented.
• A true team player who enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge.
• You live in the Netherlands or Belgium and speak fluent Dutch and English.

At NS Mobiliteitsdiensten, you will work in a dynamic and growing scale-up with a stable NS organization as the parent company. Our enthusiastic team of approximately 40 colleagues will welcome you with open arms at our office in Breda station.

What else can you expect from us?

• A one-year contract (with the prospect of a permanent contract) of 40 hours per week, although 32 or 36 hours are also negotiable.
• A salary between €3,500 and €5,000 gross full-time per month, 8% holiday allowance and 8% end-of-year bonus.
• A flexible mobility policy (naturally!) whereby, among other things, 2nd class train travel is fully reimbursed.
• A pension scheme with a 4% employee contribution and a 10% contribution from us as the employer.
• Flexibility regarding working hours, locations, and office days. With us, that means working at least 25% of your time in the office and at least 25% of your working time from home.
• The opportunity to work from abroad (within the EEA) for 4 weeks per year.
