Nedap in Groenlo is hiring a Platform Engineer to expand Nedap Now, a cloud-based platform processing millions of messages daily from dairy farms worldwide. You will build foundational hosting, focus on Kubernetes, automation, and infrastructure stability.
The role is hybrid with 32-38 hours weekly. You’ll work with a team of developers and a test engineer, enjoy flexible hours, and have opportunities for growth, a thirteenth month, pension, and potential shareholder interests.
Location: Groenlo, Netherlands
Hours: 32-38 hrs
Salary: €4,000 - €5,500 per month
Work arrangement: Hybrid
Are you an experienced Platform Engineer who enjoys building scalable cloud solutions and thrives on complex technical challenges? As a Platform Engineer at Nedap in the dairy farming sector, you will work on the further development of Nedap Now, the cloud platform that processes millions of messages every day from dairy farms around the world.
Together with your team, you will build the foundation on which other teams can reliably develop, host and roll out their solutions. You will focus on managing and improving our hosting environment on Kubernetes, automating build and deployment processes, and further professionalising our infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with fellow developers. Together, you will design and review solutions, solve technical challenges, and ensure that Nedap Now remains stable, secure and scalable for today and the future.
The tech stack is largely based on Microsoft technology. Our teams are at the forefront of adopting new technologies and are constantly looking for ways to make the platform smarter, more reliable and more scalable. Nedap Now is hosted on Azure and runs on a modern Kubernetes environment. The entire infrastructure is rolled out automatically across multiple Azure regions, ensuring the platform remains globally available, robust and future-proof.
The platform processes millions of incoming messages every day, and the ambition is to see this grow exponentially in the coming years. Observability plays a key role in reliably supporting that growth. That is why we use the LGTM stack: Loki, Grafana, Tempo and Thanos. This gives teams insight into logging, metrics, tracing and dashboards, enabling them to quickly identify, analyse and improve.
You will therefore be working in a modern cloud-native environment where Azure, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation and observability come together.
As a Platform Engineer, you will join an experienced and close-knit platform team, consisting of a Product Owner, Developers and a Software Test Engineer who also acts as the Scrum Master. The team is responsible for the Azure platform behind Nedap Now: from platform services and shared libraries to infrastructure and security. In doing so, you create the foundation that enables other cloud teams to develop and roll out solutions independently, securely and reliably. Together with other cloud teams within Livestock, you ensure that Nedap Now continues to grow as a reliable and scalable platform for our solutions in the global dairy sector.
You have the freedom to explore new ideas and pursue opportunities where they arise, but this also requires close collaboration. Knowledge is deliberately not concentrated in one person; we regularly brainstorm, share insights and help one another where necessary. There is an open and collegial atmosphere in which professionalism and enjoyment go hand in hand.
As a Platform Engineer at Nedap, you will make a valuable contribution to our goal: making people happier and more successful in their professional lives. The salary range for this role is between €4,000 and €5,500 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours) and depends on relevant knowledge and experience. In addition to your salary, you are entitled to a thirteenth month, a good pension scheme, and profit sharing with the opportunity to become a shareholder of Nedap. At Nedap, everything revolves around trust and autonomy. That’s why, along with your colleagues, you decide on your own working hours and vacation days to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We also highly value personal and professional growth. You will receive a comprehensive introduction, and we encourage you to continuously develop yourself.
You are available for 32-38 hours. Hybrid (remote) working is common within Nedap and together with your team you will arrange your own working hours for a good work‑life balance. You are preferably present at our campus in Groenlo at least two times a week.
