Job description

We're looking for a Full Stack Developer - Marketplace at Trustoo.

Are you a developer who thinks beyond code? Do you enjoy solving real business problems, improving user experiences and building products that make an impact? At Trustoo, we're looking for a product-minded Full Stack Developer who combines strong technical skills with business understanding, curiosity and an AI-first mindset.

Have you ever searched online for a painter, moving company, or accountant? Finding the right local professional can still be surprisingly difficult.

That’s why we started Trustoo in 2019. Trustoo is the online marketplace for local services, helping consumers easily find and compare the best local professionals. Think Booking.com or Tripadvisor, but for local services.

Today, Trustoo connects consumers with more than 300,000 local businesses across the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Spain. Our team of 80+ colleagues is continuously improving and scaling the platform.

Your role

As a Full Stack Developer in our Marketplace Squad, you'll improve the consumer journey, from finding and comparing professionals to submitting requests and connecting with the right provider.

We're not looking for someone who just builds tickets. We want someone who thinks along about what we should build and why.

You’ll work closely with Product, Design and Data to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions and turn business problems into effective solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Build fast, intuitive consumer experiences using React.js and Next.js.
• Improve conversion, user experience and marketplace performance.
• Contribute ideas and challenge product decisions using data and user insights.
• Take ownership of features from idea to launch and evaluation.
• Use AI tools to accelerate development, prototyping and automation.
• Build backend functionality and APIs using PHP/CakePHP when needed.
• Experiment, learn and continuously improve the product.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• 3+ years of professional frontend or full-stack development experience.
• Strong JavaScript and React.js skills, preferably with Next.js experience.
• Experience working with backend systems and APIs. PHP is a plus.
• Strong product intuition and genuine interest in how businesses grow.
• Curiosity about conversion, experimentation and user behaviour.
• A proactive mindset: you ask questions, suggest improvements and take ownership.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude.
• Interest in AI agents and automation.
• A pragmatic attitude focused on delivering value rather than just writing code.

Most importantly, you care about why you're building something, not just how.

What We Offer

• A product you’ll be proud to work on, used by consumers and local businesses every day
• The freedom to experiment with AI, technology and product ideas.
• A fantastic team atmosphere with driven colleagues
• A Great Place to Work (official certification)
• A “seat at the table” - your ideas and technical decisions matter
• Career opportunities in a fast-growing scale-up
• A competitive salary based on experience, between EUR 60.000,- and EUR 70.000,- gross per year incl holiday pay.
• Hybrid working (at least 3 days per week in our Amsterdam office)
• Company laptop, travel allowance, and work-from-home allowance
• Flexibility to work remotely 4 weeks per year
• 25 vacation days (based on 40 hours)
• EUR 1.000,- training budget to deepen your expertise
• Personal budget to spend & a good pension scheme
• Fresh lunch and healthy snacks in the office
• Fun activities: team drinks, sports, cooking workshops, boat trips
• Annual company trip abroad if targets are met.
