Job summary

De Spliethoff Groep in Amsterdam is seeking a procurement professional to secure marine fuel for the fleet, coordinating with operations to optimise voyages and ensure timely deliveries. You will negotiate with bunker suppliers and handle administration to support daily decisions.

You will analyse fuel markets to understand trends, build strong supplier relationships, and provide timely purchasing recommendations in Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of marine fuels market experience.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English.

Job description

Together with the team your main task will be the procurement of marine fuel for the fleet. Coordinating with the operational teams to make the voyage as economical as possible. This means making purchases and negotiating with bunker suppliers and assisting the operations department with the coordination of the fuel delivery. You will also ensure the administration is done correctly and in such a way that the information can be used to optimise and steer operations at the department.

You will analyse the fuels markets to get a good understanding of developments and support the department in making purchasing decisions at the right time and the right location.

You will build and maintain relationships with the suppliers and other stakeholders to stay in touch with the market.

Your requirements

• Preferred 2-3 years experience in the marine fuels market as buyer/seller or broker/trader.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of fuel market trends and pricing.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing (Dutch and English).
