Job summary

Neste is seeking a Project Purchaser to join our Project Procurement, Purchasing & Expediting team in Rotterdam, Netherlands. You will focus on purchasing services, equipment, and materials locally in Maasvlakte Rotterdam, working closely with project teams, stakeholders, suppliers, and your team.

You will help ensure timely procurement with cost awareness as part of the COO office under Investment Project Execution Governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or supply chain management, or similar skills.
• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience.
• Fluent English with strong communication.
• Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and adapt to changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) and negotiate with suppliers.
• Place purchase orders and manage contracts through to completion.
• Participate in supplier evaluations and claim management.
• Maintain awareness of project procurement processes and cost controls.

We are looking for you Project Purchaser to our Project Procurement, Purchasing & Expediting team in Rotterdam, Netherlands. We are a team of almost 40 professionals dedicated to performing all purchasing and expediting related tasks in investment projects globally.

You will focus on purchasing services and/or equipment and materials locally in Maasvlakte Rotterdam. In this job you will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, suppliers and of course with your own team. We are a part of the COO office under Investment Project Execution Governance as Project Procurement. We have team members in Finland, Netherlands and Singapore. The majority of the team is located in Porvoo, Kilpilahti Technology Center. In our team, you will be one of the loop in the project execution chain ensuring timely procurement activity execution together with a good cost awareness. Collaboration skills are the key to success in the role. Together with your expertise, we can do meaningful work to drive Neste forward.

Your role in our team

As a Project Purchaser you will be working in close co-operation with cross-functional stakeholders involved in Project as well as the suppliers. Your duties include preparing and sending out requests for quotations, negotiating, placing purchase orders, preparing and following up contracts, participating into the supplier evaluations and claim management . You will have an overall responsibility for your purchases throughout the entire process until successful completion. You need to be ready and capable to adapt in changing situations.

Keys to success in this role

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or supply chain management, or similar skills
• Preferably minimum 2 years of experience in procurement
• Good influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and adapt in changing situations
• Proactive approach on tasks, willingness to achieve results and drive change
• Proficiency and fluency in English

Other strengths we value

• Technical experience in mechanical, civil, process, and/or industrial engineering
• Familiar with project procurement process in investment environment
• Knowledge of methods and tools of purchasing and sourcing
