Job summary

The Hoxton is seeking a Front Office Intern in Amsterdam to provide warm, proactive service to guests and support the Front Office team. You will be the friendly face greeting guests, assist with check-ins and check-outs, and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

You will handle guest requests, offer local recommendations, and contribute to a welcoming, efficient hotel experience while gaining hands-on hospitality experience in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Be the first face guests see, making them feel welcome and valued.
• Handle guest check-ins/outs and manage guest bills accurately.
• Collaborate with hotel teams to handle busy periods and overbooking scenarios.
• Answer phone calls, take requests, and provide recommendations for local shows and dining.
• Serve as the hotel gatekeeper, knowing who’s who and what’s what.
• Assist with light administrative tasks such as expenses and ordering stationery.

Reporting to our Front Office Manager you will be responsible to provide a naturally friendly, helpful and responsive level of service to all our guests, ensuring they are treated as individuals and will want to return.

Job Description

What You'll Do...

• You're the first face our guests see, and you have your own way of treating them as individuals, making them feel welcome and their stay special - the Hox way.
• Deal with the coming and going of guests, making sure all bills are correct and contain no surprises.
• Work with all our teams to make sure we're always busy, and help our Front Office Manager with any overbooking levels.
• Answer phones, sort out requests, give recommendations to the best show to see and the latest pop-up restaurant to try in the area - you're the one-stop-shop for our guests to turn to
• You're our gatekeeper for the hotel. You know who's who and what's what.
• And yes, there's a little admin... Some expenses, some lists and a stationary order or two. But let's face it, we know you love that!
