Job summary

The Hoxton Amsterdam is hiring through Hosco in Amsterdam. We’re seeking a Front Office Intern to join our team and help deliver bright, friendly service to every guest.

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you’ll be the first face guests see and play a key role in creating memorable stays. You’ll assist with check-ins and check-outs, coordinate with other teams to keep the lobby welcoming, and handle guest requests with a can-do attitude.

• Provide friendly, responsive service to guests and handle check-ins/outs.
• Support with administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Be the first face guests see and make them feel welcome.
• Handle arrivals and departures, ensuring bills are accurate.
• Assist front office manager with overbooking and coordination.
• Answer phones, handle guest requests, and give local recommendations.
• Act as hotel gatekeeper and know who’s who.
• Assist with small administrative tasks and ordering supplies.

Reporting to our Front Office Manager you will be responsible to provide a naturally friendly, helpful and responsive level of service to all our guests, ensuring they are treated as individuals and will want to return. Once the Mayor’s home, now our home, on Amsterdam’s Herengracht canal. The Hoxton, Amsterdam houses 111 rooms, The Apartment, our meetings & events concept, and our all-day restaurant & bar, Lotti’s.

What you'll do…

• You're the first face our guests see, and you have your own way of treating them as individuals, making them feel welcome and their stay special - the Hox way.
• Deal with the coming and going of guests, making sure all bills are correct and contain no surprises.
• Work with all our teams to make sure we're always busy, and help our Front Office Manager with any overbooking levels.
• Answer phones, sort out requests, give recommendations to the best show to see and the latest pop-up restaurant to try in the area - you're the one-stop-shop for our guests to turn to
• You’re our gatekeeper for the hotel. You know who’s who and what’s what.
• And yes, there’s a little admin... Some expenses, some lists and a stationary order or two. But let’s face it, we know you love that!
