Job summary

The Hoxton Amsterdam is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help keep the hotel running smoothly across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will perform day-to-day maintenance tasks, fix issues proactively and log requests as they arise.

You should have a technical background (MBO 3-4 / Electrical) with fluency in Dutch and English, and be flexible to work day, evening, or weekend shifts in a collaborative hospitality team.

• Excellent understanding of Dutch and English.
• Flexible, able to work in different shifts (day, evening, weekend).

Responsibilities

• Keep the hotel running smoothly by fixing issues before guests notice.

• Repair and adjust fixtures in guest rooms, public areas and back of house.
• Carry out routine checks on equipment and safety systems and log results.
• Assist external contractors when needed and follow Health & Safety procedures.

Maintenance Technician – The Hoxton, Amsterdam

We are looking for an Engineer to join us here at The Hoxton, Amsterdam. Reporting to our Maintenance Manager you will be responsible to perform day to day maintenance work in hotel rooms, public areas and back of house areas.

We've just finished a refurb, and our public spaces are looking better than ever. It's a really exciting moment to join the team, with a freshly updated building and plenty of new details to get to know and look after.

Whatyou'lldo

• Keep the hotel running smoothly by fixing what breaks, ideally before guests notice
• Pick up maintenance requests from colleagues and guests, and log them once completed
• Fix everyday issues in guest rooms, public areas and back of house, such as broken light bulbs, leaking taps, blocked drains, loose fittings and faulty door locks
• Sort out room issues with heating, air conditioning, TVs, sockets and minibars
• Repair and adjust furniture, doors, hinges, handles and curtains
• Take care of small finishing jobs like touch-up painting, sealant, and hanging pictures and mirrors
• Get out-of-order rooms fixed and back in use as quickly as possible
• Walk regular rounds of rooms, corridors and technical spaces, and carry out preventative maintenance so issues are caught and solved early
• Carry out routine checks on equipment and safety systems, and keep the logs up to date
• Work closely with Housekeeping, Front Office and F&B to pick up requests quickly and with minimal disruption to guests
• Welcome and accompany external contractors when needed
• Support the Chief Engineer and follow Health & Safety procedures at all times
• Keep your tools, workshop and storage areas tidy, organised and safe
• Take on other reasonable tasks within the scope of the role
