Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking a Controls Engineer to join a project delivery team supporting Food & Beverage clients across the Netherlands. The role blends hybrid-based control system development and on-site commissioning, from design to handover. You will develop PLC, SCADA, HMI, and DCS applications, produce design specs, and execute FAT/SAT and start-up activities, collaborating with process, electrical, and operations teams.

Location: Randstad. Contract duration: 12 months, hybrid.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Controls, Automation, or Process Control Engineer.
• Strong DCS experience, Siemens PCS 7 preferred.
• Experience in food & beverage or process manufacturing.
• Hands-on commissioning and start-up experience.
• Knowledge of industrial networks.
• Willingness to travel during commissioning phases.

Job description

We are looking for a Controls Engineer to join a project delivery team supporting Food & Beverage manufacturing clients across the Netherlands. This role combines hybrid-based control system development and programming with on-site commissioning and start-up activities. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from design and software development through to testing, commissioning, and customer handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and modify PLC, SCADA, HMI, and DCS applications.
• Produce functional design specifications and technical documentation.
• Execute FAT, SAT, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Support project delivery from design through to operational handover.
• Work closely with process, electrical, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Controls, Automation, or Process Control Engineer.
• Strong DCS experience is essential (Siemens PCS 7 is desirable)
• Experience delivering projects within food & beverage or other process manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on commissioning and start-up experience.
• Knowledge of industrial networks
• Willingness to travel during commissioning phases.
