Job summary

Empiric in the Netherlands seeks an experienced Domain Architect / IT Platform Architect to support a major financial organisation through hybrid cloud and infrastructure transformation. You will shape architecture strategies, define standards and drive the enterprise IT platform roadmap.

The role requires TOGAF/ArchiMate, Azure and VMware expertise, and a strong grasp of security, governance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Domain Architect or IT Architect.
• Proven Azure, VMware and hybrid cloud expertise.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with TOGAF, ArchiMate and EA governance.
• Ability to work with DevOps and Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Shape architecture strategies and roadmaps across Azure, VMware and hybrid cloud environments.
• Define architectural standards, principles and technical guidelines.
• Review platform designs, ensuring alignment with security, governance and regulatory requirements.

Freelance Domain Architect - Cloud & Infrastructure | Netherlands

Location: Amstelveen- 2 days onsite per week

I'm currently looking for an experienced Domain Architect / IT Platform Architect to support a major financial organisation undergoing continued transformation across its hybrid cloud and infrastructure landscape.

You'll join an established architecture function, helping define the strategic direction, technical standards and future roadmap of enterprise IT platforms.

• Shape architecture strategies and roadmaps across Azure, VMware and hybrid cloud environments.
• Define architectural standards, principles and technical guidelines.
• Review platform designs, ensuring alignment with security, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with enterprise architects, platform teams and technical stakeholders.
• Support architecture governance, design reviews and strategic decision-making.
• Strong experience as a Domain Architect, IT Architect or Infrastructure Architect.
• Practical knowledge of Azure, VMware and enterprise infrastructure, ideally including mainframe environments.
• Experience with TOGAF, ArchiMate and enterprise architecture governance.
• Understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, SOA and Zero Trust.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture and regulated IT environments.
• Comfortable working with DevOps and Agile teams.
