Job summary

Protocol Infrastructure B.V. is seeking a Founding CTO to spearhead hardware, software, and systems architecture for our edge platform. The role combines cloud API orchestration with local edge software, ensuring sub-50ms control within building OT networks.

The candidate will lead manufacturing partnerships, drive multi-vendor integrations, and shape our product roadmap toward scalable deployments across portfolios. Travel to Amsterdam will be required for critical alignments.

Qualifications

• Scale-Up pedigree with leadership in hardware/IoT/robotics scale-ups.
• Strong system architecture expertise across cloud backend and edge integration.
• Deep OT and hardware fluency including industrial protocols.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud API clearinghouse and open-source SDKs; lead edge software builds.
• Manage edge OS and hardware integration; ensure secure, zero-trust boundaries.
• Coordinate with GSIs and elevator OEMs for turnkey site execution.
• Lead compliance and safety risk assessments (EN 81-73 / ASME A17.1, ISO CG 40 47).
• Oversee external manufacturing partners and CE/UL testing.
