Job summary

ORE ENERGY in Amsterdam is seeking a Software Engineer – Edge Systems & Embedded Security to own secure software and data architectures for battery energy storage systems. You will bridge edge devices with cloud platforms and design scalable data pipelines.

The role emphasizes cybersecurity, secure communication protocols, OTA updates, and collaboration with hardware and cloud teams to keep energy systems safe, observable and resilient.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in edge-to-cloud systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++; Go or Rust is a plus.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols and secure embedded software.
• Linux-based embedded devices and edge gateways development experience.
• Experience integrating devices with cloud platforms for remote monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design secure software and data architectures bridging edge devices with cloud platforms.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and secure edge-to-cloud interfaces.
• Implement cybersecurity features and secure update mechanisms.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deploy BESS communication software.
• Ensure observable, resilient and secure operation of energy storage systems.
