Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead a team across Amsterdam, NY and Wilton, with travel between sites. The role focuses on overseeing heavy truck, trailer, and reefer maintenance within a proactive preventive program.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in fleet maintenance or operations and 5-8 years in direct management, plus a background in technician work and strong DOT compliance knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least 2 years' industry experience in fleet maintenance or operations capacity.
• 5-8 years of direct management experience.
• Prior technician/mechanic experience.
• Familiarity with heavy truck/trailer/reefer repair and maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills - Word, Excel, fleet management systems and ERP/timekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Monitor performance and be accessible to all areas of the shop.
• Oversee multiple shop operations.
• Plan daily manpower to meet workload and support operations with equipment issues.

Overview

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager inWilton orAmsterdam, New York. The Fleet Manager is responsible for leading a team of Technicians and Mechanics in an aggressive quality preventative maintenance repair program, including the maintenance of Class 7-8 truck, trailer and reefers to ensure a safe and efficient fleet.

This position will manage locations in Amsterdam and Wilton and will require regular travel between the sites.

Compensation:

Competitive Salary Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary range: $85,000-$100,000 depending on experience plus additional bonus incentives.

What the Fleet Manager role looks like:

• Lead, educate and develop employees
• Monitor employee’s performance and be accessible to all areas of the shop
• Oversee multiple shop operations
• Plan daily manpower to meet workloadProvide support to the operations team regarding all equipment related issues
• Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies
• Perform administrative functions; including payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance and compliance documentation
• Address all corrective action regarding direct reports
• Provide clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment
• Communicate with client to ensure operation's and company's needs are met
• Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs
• Conduct pre-shift meetings
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Interview and hire for shop positions

What our ideal candidate looks like:

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants.
• Ability to move and position heavy objects
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
