Job summary

Astrape Networks is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to own day-to-day financial operations across our Dutch, Belgian, and Italian entities in Europe. The role emphasizes accuracy, control, and proactive problem solving.

You will partner with the CFO and management to ensure financial records are complete, audit-ready, and compliant, while building scalable processes, governance, and automation opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in financial accounting, ideally within a growing SME, scale-up, or accounting firm.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Independent and ownership of financial processes and deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset and high accuracy.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, VAT regulations, and financial administration.
• Experience with Exact Online or similar accounting software is a plus.
• Comfort with AI and automation tools to improve finance efficiency.
• Exposure to international/multi-entity environments is advantageous.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day accounting across Dutch, Belgian, and Italian entities.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, GL activities, and financial record keeping.
• Process invoices, validate approvals, and maintain accurate financial administration.
• Prepare supplier payment runs and payment proposals.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure audit-ready records.
• Own month-end close and support quarterly/year-end closing.
• Prepare accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, and schedules.
• Assist VAT filings and statutory reporting with external advisors.
• Support external audits and maintain strong financial controls.
• Identify opportunities for automation and governance improvements.

Job description

At Astrape Networks, we're building the future of sustainable data center solutions. As we continue to grow across Europe, we're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant with strong accounting expertise and a proactive, hands-on mindset.

This is more than a transactional accounting role. You will take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration across our entities in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy, while helping to build the processes, controls, and structure needed to support our growing international technology company.

You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness. You enjoy creating structure, improving processes, and working independently, while collaborating closely with the CFO and management team.

The role is based in Eindhoven, with interaction with colleagues and advisors across our European entities. Fluency in English and Dutch is required.

The level of the role - including title, scope, and compensation - will be tailored to the experience the successful candidate brings.

This role requires a minimum of 4 days per week (80%), with the option to work full-time.

How You'll Make an Impact

Financial Operations & Accounting Ownership

• Run the day-to-day accounting activities across our Dutch, Belgian, and Italian entities
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, and financial record keeping
• Process incoming invoices, validate approvals, and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial administration
• Prepare and coordinate supplier payment runs and payment proposals
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure financial records remain complete, accurate, and compliant
• Own and run the month-end close, and support quarterly and year-end closing activities
• Prepare accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, and supporting schedules
• Assist with VAT filings and statutory reporting requirements in collaboration with external advisors
• Ensure financial documentation is organized, complete, and audit-ready
• Support external audits and contribute to maintaining strong financial controls

Process Improvement & Business Support

• Help professionalize and optimize financial processes as the organization continues to grow
• Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and stronger financial governance
• Act as a trusted point of contact for finance-related administrative questions within the organization
• Support the CFO with ad hoc financial analyses and operational finance projects

Who You Are

• You have 3–7+ years of experience in a (financial) accounting, ideally within a growing SME, scale-up, or accounting firm
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or have reached an equivalent level through experience.
• You are comfortable working independently and taking ownership of financial processes and deliverables
• You combine strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset and a high standard of accuracy
• You have solid knowledge of accounting principles, VAT regulations, and financial administration
• Experience with Exact Online or similar accounting software is a plus
• You are comfortable using AI and automation tools to work more efficiently, and are keen to apply them in a finance context
• Exposure to international or multi-entity environments is an advantage
• You communicate fluently in English and Dutch
