Job summary

Creative Fabrica in Amsterdam seeks a Financial Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close. You will manage AP, reconciliations, journal entries, VAT and tax-related activities, and support accurate financial information.

You will work extensively in Oracle NetSuite, collaborate with colleagues, liaise with vendors, and contribute to process improvements within a small Finance team. You report to the Head of Accounting.

Qualifications

5+ years in a similar accounting role with Dutch GAAP experience.
Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite.
Strong knowledge of Dutch/EU VAT, OSS/ICP filings, and WKR.
Experience with international VAT, sales tax or GST is a plus.
Degree or relevant professional experience in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.

Responsibilities

Manage Accounts Payable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
Support VAT, tax compliance and international filings, liaising with external advisors.
Contribute to month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting.
Improve NetSuite processes and explore automation opportunities (incl. AI) across Finance workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and report to the Head of Accounting.

About Creative Fabrica

About the role

As our Financial Accountant, you will play an important role in Creative Fabrica’s day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close. You will be responsible for core accounting activities including Accounts Payable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, VAT and other tax-related activities, payment processing, and supporting the preparation of accurate financial information.

This role is designed for an experienced accounting professional who wants to broaden their responsibilities over time. You will gain exposure to more complex accounting processes, international tax matters, reporting and finance projects, with the opportunity to develop into a broader Accountant role.

You will work extensively in Oracle NetSuite, collaborate with colleagues across the business, and liaise with vendors and external parties. As part of a small and hands-on Finance team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of processes, identify issues, and contribute directly to improving how Finance operates.

You will report to the Head of Accounting.

What you’ll do

Accounts Payable

Process and code invoices, manage the finance mailbox, and resolve AP issues (duplicates, mismatches, outstanding items)
Run weekly/monthly payments (SEPA, PayPal) and reconcile corporate card transactions
Maintain vendor records and support AP process improvements

Reconciliations & General Accounting

Perform bank, credit card, and AP subledger reconciliations
Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring entries and revenue recognition
Support month-end/year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting
Investigate discrepancies and unusual transactions proactively

VAT, Tax & Compliance

Prepare Dutch VAT returns (OB, OSS, ICP) and support WKR compliance
Assist with international VAT/GST/sales tax filings and liaise with external tax advisors
Stay current on relevant Dutch/EU tax regulation changes

Audit & Process Improvement

Support external audits with schedules and documentation
Improve NetSuite processes, bank feed/expense integrations, and identify automation opportunities (including AI) across Finance workflows

What you’ll need

5+ years in a similar accounting role, with strong fundamentals and Dutch GAAP experience.
Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite.
Solid grasp of Dutch/EU VAT (OB, OSS, ICP filings) and WKR
Experience working with international VAT, sales tax or GST is a strong advantage.
A degree or relevant professional experience in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
Strong attention to detail and a structured, organised approach to work.
A proactive mindset with the ability to investigate issues and find practical solutions.
Strong communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small Finance team.
Experience in revenue recognition.
