We're looking for a Finance Operations Specialist to join a growing digital organisation and take ownership of day-to-day financial operations. This role involves maintaining an accurate general ledger and monitoring automated financial processes, making it ideal for someone who combines a hands-on mentality with genuine curiosity about the "why" behind the numbers.

About the role

As part of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that financial transactions are processed accurately and on time across banks, payment service providers, and other systems. You will manage core administrative activities, review intermediary accounts, and help improve the reliability of financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Process bank transactions and maintain accurate general ledger accounts
• Review and reconcile intermediary and suspense accounts
• Monitor automated transaction flows across integrated systems and investigate discrepancies
• Analyse operational performance and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise financial workflows and system integrations
• Work closely with the head of finance and controller as processes continue to scale

About you

• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
• HBO bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business economics, or a related field
• Reliable and precise with day-to-day financial administration experience
• Solid experience across AP/AR, the general ledger, and VAT, with the ability to validate the accuracy of automated processes
• Experience with financial/bookkeeping software (VismaNet, AccountView, Exact, or similar)
• Naturally curious about processes, with a tendency to spot inefficiencies and understand the root cause.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple systems and moving parts while maintaining a clear overview.
• Ready to take on new tasks as the role's scope shifts over time
