Job summary

WINK in Amsterdam is seeking a Finance Manager to lead day-to-day Finance operations across Accounting, Financial Control and Project Control. You will report to the CFO and connect finance with the wider business to ensure clarity, accuracy and timeliness of financial information.

You’ll guide close processes, manage working capital, and drive strong governance in a multi-country, multi-currency environment while developing a capable Finance team.

Qualifications

• HBO+ or WO level in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or comparable field.
• At least five to seven years in Financial Control, Finance Management or similar leadership role.
• Experience leading and developing a Finance team.
• Strong experience with financial reporting, close processes and internal controls.
• Knowledge of working capital and cash flow management.
• Experience in a project-driven organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Finance operation across Accounting, Financial Control and Project Control.
• Set priorities, manage dependencies and create clarity within a lean Finance team.
• Coordinate monthly close and ensure deadlines, quality and completeness.
• Own the reporting package quality and timeliness for CFO review.
• Ensure accurate reporting across P&L, balance sheet, project P&L, utilization, provisions and cash flow.
• Monitor annual budget performance and explain material deviations.
• Inspire a clear, understandable, action-ready financial narrative.
• Manage working capital, receivables, payables and WIP.
• Monitor cash movements and liquidity with CFO.
• Provide mandate to Project Control for financial gates.
• Ensure projects have financial coverage before start.
• Oversee project economics, invoicing discipline, DSO and unbilled revenue.
• Lead and coach Finance team with clear responsibilities and accountability.
• Build a Finance culture focused on proactive issue resolution.
• Ensure critical Finance activities have back-up and no single point of failure.
• Support WINK’s international growth across countries and currencies.
• Act as primary operational Finance contact for external accountants and banks.
• Collaborate with Account, Project Management, Production and Operations to embed financial discipline.
• Make financial information understandable for non-finance stakeholders.

Job description

We’re looking for a Finance Manager who likes things clear, reliable and moving in the right direction.

As Finance Manager at WINK, you’ll lead our day-to-day Finance operation and be the link between the Finance team and CFO. You’ll bring Accounting, Financial Control and Project Control together as one strong Finance chain, making sure the numbers are right, the processes work and the business has the financial clarity it needs to make good decisions.

You’ll keep the WINK finances running smoothly by:

• Leading the daily Finance operation across Accounting, Financial Control and Project Control
• Setting priorities, managing dependencies and creating clarity within a lean Finance team
• Coordinating the monthly close and making sure deadlines, quality and completeness are on point
• Owning the quality and timeliness of the reporting package before it reaches the CFO
• Ensuring accurate reporting across P&L, balance sheet, project P&L, utilisation, provisions and cash flow
• Monitoring performance against the annual budget and identifying and explaining material deviations
• Making financial reporting consistent, understandable and ready for decision-making
• Managing working capital at a tactical and operational level, including receivables, payables and work in progress
• Keeping a close eye on cash movements, risks and constraints and reviewing liquidity with the CFO on a weekly basis
• Giving Project Control the mandate and backing to enforce agreed financial gates
• Making sure projects don’t start without the required financial coverage
• Monitoring project economics, invoicing discipline, DSO and unbilled revenue across the portfolio
• Making sure financial risks are identified and escalated before they become problems
• Leading and coaching the Finance team, creating clear responsibilities, priorities and accountability
• Building a Finance culture where issues are identified and addressed early
• Making sure critical Finance activities have effective back-up and the operation doesn’t rely too heavily on any one person.
• Supporting WINK’s international growth by managing the operational implications of working across countries and currencies
• Acting as the primary operational Finance contact for external accountants, tax advisers, banks and other financial partners
• Working with Account, Project Management, Production and Operations to bring financial discipline into the wider organisation
• Making financial information understandable and actionable for people who don’t speak Finance

While we’re looking for out-of-the-box people, there are a few boxes we need you to tick:

• You have a HBO+ or WO working and thinking level in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or a comparable field
• You have at least five to seven years of relevant experience in Financial Control, Finance Management or a comparable Finance leadership role
• You have demonstrable experience leading and developing a Finance team
• You have strong experience with financial reporting, close processes and internal controls
• You know your way around working capital and cash flow management
• You have substantial experience working in a project-driven organisation
• You understand project economics and project-based financial management
• You have experience with time-registration and project administration systems
• You have hands‑on experience working with Exact accounting software
• You’re comfortable operating in an international or multi-currency environment
• Experience in an agency, production, events or another project-driven business is strongly preferred
• You’re a clear and credible Finance leader who can create overview without losing operational grip
• You’re decisive when it comes to ownership, deadlines and escalation
• You’re process-oriented without becoming bureaucratic
• You’re a strong coach and people manager
• You’re financially sharp, pragmatic and reliable
• You’re hands‑on when required, but always looking for ways to build sustainable systems rather than relying on last-minute heroics
• You have native‑level Dutch proficiency and a strong command of professional English

This is a full-time, Amsterdam-based position with a hybrid working model in line with WINK’s working arrangements. You’ll report directly to the CFO and lead a team across Accounting, Financial Control and Project Control.
