The job profile

The Finance Director has broad responsibility for the financial and operational backbone of SET Ventures, covering both the funds and the international management company. Working closely with the Partners and investment team, you oversee fund finance and reporting, cash flow, fund economics, valuations, compliance, legal, risk and tax. You also contribute to investment governance and work with external specialists and advisors where appropriate.

The role extends beyond Finance into impact reporting, investor and fundraising support, and SET's wider operational infrastructure, including IT and vendor management. As SET continues to grow and prepares for future funds, the scope will continue to evolve. This requires someone who creates structure in an entrepreneurial environment, takes ownership and is comfortable working across a broad range of topics rather than operating within a narrowly defined finance role.

The ideal candidate

The Finance Director combines a strong financial foundation with a hands-on and structured approach. You understand how investment funds operate and have relevant experience within private equity, venture capital, family office, real estate or another asset class, or have worked with investment funds from an audit or advisory perspective. You may already be a Finance Director or be a strong second-in-command ready to take the next step.

We are not looking for someone who has already covered every aspect of the role. More important is your ability to take ownership, learn quickly and work through unfamiliar topics, involving specialist expertise where needed. You are comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment, can form and defend your own point of view and remain open to challenge and different perspectives. For this position we are looking for a Dutch speaking candidate.
