Job summary

Cognizant Netherlands is seeking a Field Technician to support the hardware systems life cycle for camera infrastructure worldwide, including installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and disassembly.

You will travel up to 70% (domestic and international), use hand and power tools, assist test/data collection, and help engineers with guides and knowledge bases. The role offers strong learning, international exposure and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Field Technician.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% (domestic and international).
  • Valid driving license with clean record.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and light power tools.
  • Understanding of wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems and ticketing (CRM).
  • Familiarity with Linux and G-Suite is a plus.

Job description

As a Field Technician, you will be responsible to support hardware systems life cycle (Installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and disassembly) of camera systems worldwide, both in-house and in-field.

Hardware Operations is a part of a high-profile client project that provides interactive panoramas from positions along many streets in the world. It comes under the purview of Geo Data Operations (GDO). Hardware Operations is responsible for building, testing, deploying and maintaining imagery hardware and sensors used on different platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Hardware systems life cycle support (Installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and disassembly) of camera systems both in-hose and in-field
  • Remote support of fleet systems, including walking operators through system function tests and collecting relevant data
  • Support engineering teams with test and data collection projects
  • Hardware maintenance and failure analysis
  • Train/support new hire technicians to support hardware operations
  • Spare hardware management and hardware/tools procurement skills
  • Interacting with other teams in the project to ensure hardware support effectiveness (Fleet, inventory, logistics, etc.)
  • Review and produce technical guides to improve the hardware support knowledge base
  • Produce solutions for new and existing hardware operation challenges
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Field Technician
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time, often on short notice (both domestic and international trips)
  • Valid driving license with clear driving record
  • Knowledge and experience with hand tools, light power tools
  • Types and application of hardware
  • Measuring tools and techniques
  • Basic automotive repair
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Understanding of wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
  • Working knowledge of ticketing systems (CRM)
  • Google Workspace knowledge (G-Suite)
  • Self-driven time/tasks organization and planning skills
  • Electronics troubleshooting and repairs (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of Linux (preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with various testing techniques and great hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Hardware troubleshooting, installation and warehouse management
  • Familiarity with vehicle parts, computer parts, camera parts, PCB etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business
  • Comfortable with a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude with a passion for learning and creative problem solving
