Job summary

Scania Nederland B.V. is seeking a field-based technician to install, maintain, or repair products at customers' sites using specialized technical knowledge.

This role maintains ongoing relationships with customers and sales staff focused on technical applications of the product or service. The position involves product demonstrations, providing detailed product information, assisting with complex installations under guidance, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with technical product applications or related field service is preferred.
• Ability to explain complex product information to customers clearly.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and codes of conduct in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the features/attributes of the product/service and support requests for detailed demonstrations.
• Provide advanced product/service information and respond to basic customer questions about the product/service.
• Help to install complex systems and conduct inspections of equipment with guidance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment for emergency repairs and carry out preventive maintenance routines.
• Respond to basic issue escalations promptly and appropriately; provide managerial approvals as required.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization’s policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes to ensure compliance.
• Make calls to allocated customers to maintain and strengthen existing relationships; act as first point of contact for queries.
• Interview the customer to clarify requirements, or assist in conducting interviews with potential customers, taking detailed notes.
• Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others to speed up workflow and ensure priorities are met.
• Follow HSE policies and procedures to mitigate risks and safeguard health and environment.
• Develop own capabilities through training and coaching and keep up with relevant technology and industry practices.
