Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Delft, Netherlands, seeks a Field Service Engineer to deliver expert service and maintenance for Varian systems, following documented processes and training. You will proactively minimize downtime, optimize performance, and build long‑term relationships with customers through clear, professional communication on site and remotely.

Qualifications

  • Degree from a Technical Institute or Bachelor’s in Electronics, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience servicing complex medical equipment (preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with ability to use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert service and maintenance for Varian systems, following technical documentation and training.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce equipment downtime and optimize system performance.
  • Provide first‑line phone and remote support to customers and Field Engineers when required.
  • Document all service activities in company systems, including issues, actions, and parts used.

We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions.Completes technical-oriented service tasks of various scopes and supports in planning and managing these tasks.Major ResponsibilitiesDeliver expert service and maintenance for advanced Varian systems, following technical documentation and comprehensive training programs.Act as a trusted partner to customers, proactively identifying opportunities to reduce equipment downtime and optimize system performance.Build strong, long‑term customer relationships through clear, empathetic, and professional communication—both on site and remotely.Provide first‑line phone and remote technical support to customers and Field Engineers when required.Independently plan and manage your schedule, balancing preventive maintenance, installations, upgrades, and urgent service requests while effectively prioritizing customer needs through to resolution.Accurately document all service activities in company systems, including technical issues, corrective actions, and parts used.Participate in an initial structured training phase, including attendance at technical courses in dedicated training facilities, and continuously update your expertise through technical publications and procedures related to Varian equipment.Uphold the highest standards of professional knowledge, quality, and safety in full alignment with company guidelines.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree from a Technical Institute or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).1–2 years of relevant experience in servicing complex technical or medical equipment (preferred).Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with confident use of testing and diagnostic equipment.Solid knowledge of IT hardware and basic network troubleshooting.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer‑oriented mindset.Fluency in English.Willingness and flexibility to work in shifts.#LI-OS1Who we are: We are a team of more than 72,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries.
