Job description

Job description

Help ensure that critical force measurement systems deliver accurate and reliable results

Every day, organisations rely on force measurement systems to verify the safety, quality, and performance of products and materials. From lifting and hoisting equipment to offshore applications, material testing laboratories, and aerospace engineering, accurate force measurements are essential for safe operations and reliable test results.

For our Calibration team, we are looking for a Field Engineer Force Calibrations. In this role, you perform calibrations on force measurement systems such as tensile and compression testing machines, load cells, and fatigue testing equipment, helping customers maintain accurate and traceable measurements.

Force measurements are used in applications where accuracy is critical. By carrying out calibrations at customer locations, you help ensure that testing, inspection, and production processes are based on reliable measurement results that organisations can trust.

Working alongside field engineers, laboratory specialists, and planners, you contribute to delivering high‑quality calibration services for customers across a wide range of industries. While much of your work is performed independently on‑site, you can always rely on the expertise and support of your colleagues.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform force calibrations on tensile and compression testing machines, load cells, fatigue testing systems, and related equipment
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the Netherlands and occasionally abroad to perform calibration activities
  • Set up, operate, and verify calibration equipment and measurement systems
  • Independently perform measurements, calculations, and technical assessments in accordance with established procedures
  • Evaluate calibration results and determine whether equipment meets applicable requirements and tolerances
  • Discuss findings with customers and provide clear expectations when adjustments or corrective actions are required
  • Prepare calibration certificates and accurately document results in NMi’s systems
  • Contribute to maintaining NMi’s high standards for quality, traceability, and reliability

What you’ll get:

  • The opportunity to become a specialist in force calibration and measurement technology
  • A highly independent role with responsibility for your own customer visits
  • Exposure to a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, offshore, aerospace, lifting and hoisting equipment, and research laboratories
  • Extensive on‑the‑job training and support from experienced colleagues
  • A company van equipped with professional calibration equipment
  • The opportunity to work in a unique technical field where quality, precision, and craftmanship are key
  • A competitive salary based on your experience
  • A 13th month salary (paid monthly), holiday allowance, and profit sharing
  • 30 days of annual leave, with the option to buy or sell additional days
  • Hybrid working options
  • A solid pension scheme
  • Travel reimbursement, home office allowance, and collective health insurance
  • Access to sports benefits
Job requirements

What you bring

  • MBO 4 working and thinking level, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • Affinity with mechanical systems and measurement technology
  • Experience with calibration, measurement electronics, instrumentation, or control systems is an advantage
  • The ability to work independently and accurately in customer environments
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025, hydraulics, control systems, or material strength testing is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and a professional customer‑oriented mindset
  • A valid Dutch driving license (B)
  • A valid VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • The ability to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) upon employment
