Job summary

The Usual, a design hotel and F&B hotspot in Rotterdam, is seeking an F&B host to welcome guests across our U Bar, restaurant and living room. You’ll craft memorable experiences, serve drinks from coffee to cocktails, and connect with guests to make everyone feel at home.

You’ll storytelling about local producers, contribute to a warm, sustainable culture, work in a collaborative team, and help create a positive stay from the first hello.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in a similar role.
• You are a great storyteller and are not afraid to tell about our partner stories to guests.
• Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
• Available for 4 days per week with shifts 07:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00 and 16:00-00:00.
• Must have a heart for sustainability.
• You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Creating excitement and storytelling around our local F&B products, suppliers, initiatives and services.
• Preparing and serving barista-style coffees and teas.
• Serving our guests in the meeting rooms and living room.
• Preparing and serving local beers, wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages in Ubar.
• Creating an inviting and cozy ambiance that sets the stage for a positive stay.
• Spread moments of joy by surprising our guests with thoughtful gestures.
• Address guests’ concerns and find swift solutions to secure their happiness.
• Being a real team player and supporting the pantry and service areas.

The role

As F&B host, you create welcoming and memorable experiences for our guests across our U Bar, restaurant, and living room. You will be preparing and serving delicious drinks, from morning barista-style coffees to late night cocktails. Picture yourself and your colleagues as memory makers, where you won’t hide behind a bar, but you will connect with our guests.

What you'll bring to the table

We seek an individual who not only serves our guests but also shares a passion for our menu, explaining flavors and creating unforgettable food experiences. You are also driven by a passion for sustainability. Next to this, the following requirements apply:

• At least 1 year experience in a similar role;
• You are a great storyteller and are not afraid to tell about our great partner stories to (y)our guests;
• Fluency in English is essential, additional languages are a plus;
• Available for 4 days per week and flexible, with shifts from 07:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00 and 16:00 - 00:00;
• Must have a heart for sustainability;
• You are legally allowed to work in The Netherlands.
