Job summary

The Usual Rotterdam is seeking a friendly Host to greet guests and craft memorable experiences across check-in, U Bar, pantry, restaurant, terrace, and meeting rooms. You will be a welcoming presence, ensuring guests feel at home from the moment they arrive.

We value hospitality experience, a passion for sustainability, and the ability to work in a small, vibrant team with flexible day shifts. Legal to work in the Netherlands and fluency in English are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in hospitality.
• Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
• Available part-time and flexible to work shifts between 07:00–15:00 or 15:00–23:00.

As a Host you are responsible for creating and unforgettable experience for our guests throughout their stay. As part of your daily shift, you will be working at the check-in area, U Bar and our restaurant locations.

The role

As host, you’re not only welcoming our guests, you create experiences for them. Picture yourself and your colleagues as memory makers, where you won’t hide behind a desk. You will shine between check-in, bar, pantry, restaurant, terrace & meeting rooms. During your shift, you are engaged in:

• Creating a warm, inviting, and cozy atmosphere that sets the tone for a positivestay from the very first hello
• Anticipating guest needs and preferences through conversations and thoughtful questioning.
• Spread moments of joyby surprising our guests with unexpected gestures.
• Address guests’ concerns and find swift solutions to secure their happiness.
• Being a real team player. One moment you will check-in our guests, the next you will be shaking the Usual cocktail for them or helping your team in the pantry.

• Minimum of 1 year experience in hospitality
• Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus

• A strong passion for both sustainability and hospitality!
• Legally permitted to work in the Netherlands
