Job summary

Huisman in Schiedam is seeking an Expeditor to monitor supplier progress and ensure timely delivery of procured goods and services. You will act as the ears, eyes and voice of Huisman, visiting suppliers when needed to verify deadlines and mitigate deviations.

You will provide complete, reliable information to the project team to avoid costly planning surprises. The role requires a Bachelor-level background, ability to work with ERP systems, and strong proactive communication.

• Bachelor level
• Proven ability to manage deadlines with internal teams (Engineering, QC) and suppliers.
• Strong communication in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Engineering and QC for deadlines and external visits.
• Monitoring the progress of procured goods and services, in accordance with the purchase order.
• Ensuring delivery is in line with agreements, pushing and escalating when the project requires it.

About The Position Of Expeditor

What to expect of the Expeditor position within Huisman?

Would you like to work as the ears, the eyes and the voice of Huisman? As an Expeditor, you will monitor the progress of our suppliers and, where necessary, visit them to determine whether the set deadlines are being met and know when to elevate and mitigate in case of deviations. You have a critical and challenging mindset and do not want to go back to the project team empty-handed. You provide the project team with complete and reliable information so that there are no costly planning surprises.

As An Expeditor You Are Responsible For

• Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Engineering and QC for deadlines and external visits;
• Monitoring the progress of procured goods and services, in accordance with the purchase order;

• A proactive approach, as timely delivery is essential to the projects.

• A relevant Bachelor work and thinking level.

Some Practical Things We Need You To Have

• An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
• A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
