Job summary

MARS VETERINARY HEALTH is seeking a European Health & Safety Systems & Training Manager to lead development and harmonisation of HSE systems across MVH Europe. You will drive digital reporting, analytics and training programs for multiple countries, aligning with local regulations and cultures.

The role offers strategic influence with cross-country collaboration, reporting to the Director of Health & Safety, Risk & Security. Travel across Europe is required.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years in health, safety and environmental leadership roles, ideally pan-European.
  • Strong knowledge of European and UK health and safety legislation and its multi-jurisdiction applicability.
  • Experience implementing and improving ISO 45001 and other HSE standards.

Job Title - European Health & Safety Systems & Training Manager

Location - MVHE Hubs: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Preferred) |Madrid, Spain |Munich, Germany |Solihull, UK

The team

You will join the Health, Safety, Risk & Security (HSRS) function within Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) Europe and report to the Director of Health & Safety, Risk & Security.

The role has a pan-European remit, supporting the current and future MVH geographic network. You will work collaboratively with leaders and teams across multiple countries, bringing together HSE expertise, systems, training, compliance and risk management to create consistent standards while recognising local regulatory and cultural requirements.

This is a strategic individual contributor role with significant regional influence. You will act as a central point of contact for pan-European HSE initiatives and build strong relationships with operational teams, subject matter experts, senior leaders and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong HSE leadership experience: At least 8 years of experience in health, safety and environmental leadership roles, ideally within a multi-site or pan-European environment.
  • Technical and regulatory expertise: Strong knowledge of European and UK health and safety legislation, with practical experience applying requirements across different jurisdictions.
  • Management systems experience: Proven experience implementing and improving ISO 45001 and other relevant international HSE standards and management systems.
  • Training and culture: Demonstrated success in designing and delivering safety training programmes across different countries, cultures and regulatory environments, including the ability to develop multilingual content.
  • Professional qualification: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is required. CMIOSH or a similar professional chartership is preferred. Experience with HSE digital systems, reporting and analytics would also be an advantage.
  • Regional flexibility: Willingness to travel across Europe as required and able to build effective relationships with stakeholders across different markets and organisational levels.
