OTTO Health Care invites you to join Zonnehuisgroep Amstelland in Amstelveen, the Netherlands, for a 4-month Dutch language and culture training that leads to a permanent contract.

Join our program and take the first step toward working in the Netherlands with OTTO Health Care.

We offer a free Dutch language and culture program to help you feel confident and prepared. This 4-month training takes place at our OTTO Health Care Academy in the Netherlands, so you will already be immersed in your new environment from day one.

Tasks

• Personal care: Assisting with washing, dressing, eating, and daily living activities (ADL).
• Daily living support: Helping clients with daily routines.
• Daily living support: Supporting walking, transfers, and the use of mobility aids.
• Observation & reporting: Noticing changes in wellbeing, mood, or physical condition.
• Observation & reporting: Reporting observations to Nurse colleagues.
• Emotional & social support: Offering a listening ear and emotional comfort.
• Emotional & social support: Supporting clients during activities and daily structure moments.
• Working according to care plans: Executing planned care tasks based on team instructions.
• Working according to care plans: Ensuring safety, hygiene, and comfort at all times.
• Collaboration: Working closely with, nurses, therapists, and informal caregivers.
• Collaboration: Contributing to a warm, positive, and respectful living environment.

What does your day look like?

Start of shift

• Reading handover notes
• Reviewing planning and client needs

Morning

• Providing ADL care
• Supporting breakfast and morning routines
• Observing and reporting changes to colleagues

Afternoon

• Social interaction and wellbeing support
• Light activities or companionship
• Assisting during lunch or movement moments

End of shift

• Documentation and reporting
• Handover to the next team

Common health conditions in elderly care

Somatic conditions

• Diabetes
• COPD
• Heart and vascular diseases
• Arthritis and mobility limitations
• Parkinson’s disease
• Wound care needs (handled by VIG/Nurse)

Dementia & psychological changes

• Alzheimer’s disease
• Vascular dementia
• Behavioral changes such as restlessness or confusion

You support clients in daily life, while medical and technical nursing tasks are carried out by VIG’s or nurses.

What do we ask from you?

Required

• An Assistant nurse diploma or equivalent healthcare background
• Experience in elderly care is an advantage
• Willingness to learn Dutch
• Motivation, empathy, and a sense of responsibility

What do we offer?

• Dutch language & culture training through OTTO Health Care.
• Apermanent contract at Zonnehuisgroep Amstelland after the onboarding period.
• Salary according to the Dutch healthcare CAO
  • Starting salary: FWG 30, scale 8 – €3,124.01
  • After positive evaluation you move up in FWG what gives you higher scales to move into: FWG 35, scale 7 – €3,124.01
• Up to36 hours per week.
• Pension, holiday allowance, and leave according to CAO
• Internal training and development via Zonnehuis Academy.
• Possibility to grow toward BIG registration in the future.

Worklocation: Amstelveen, Amsterdam (Buitenveldert), Ouder-Amstel or De Ronde Venen (Mijdrecht, Vinkeveen)
