Job summary

Adyen is seeking a hands-on CDD Risk Analyst for the Direct Customer Onboarding team to support the growth and scaling of our customer base in EMEA. You will onboard merchants, perform enhanced due diligence, KYC checks, and assess AML risks to protect Adyen and customers.

You will work with commercial, compliance, and product teams to keep knowledge up-to-date and maintain compliant processes. This role is based in Amsterdam and emphasizes detailed, scalable risk-based decision making.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), or KYC.
• High sense of responsibility, integrity, and ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs.
• Curious, analytical, and critical mindset with a strong problem-solving orientation and risk-based approach.
• Clear communicator and team player, comfortable navigating ambiguity and tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
• Experience collaborating with commercial stakeholders to navigate discussions while maintaining robust risk standards.
• Experience with policies, procedures, and product teams to identify gaps and enhance processes.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Onboarding: Manage end to end onboarding flows for enterprise accounts, conducting in-depth due diligence, analyzing complex ownership structures, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory obligations and internal policies.
• Quality & Accuracy: Maintain "first-time-right" quality accuracy across all risk assessments and regional compliance standards as well as regulatory expectations.
• Merchant Communication & Guidance: Act as the primary point of contact for merchants during onboarding, providing clear guidance and internal advice.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, compliance, and product teams to balance risk mitigation with business scalability growth, as well as have a critical eye on our own internal processes.
• Risk Escalations: Handle complex risk escalations, providing expert analysis and decision-making on high-risk onboarding scenarios.
• Policy & Standards Alignment: Align local operational procedures with global policy requirements and second-line compliance standards.
