Job summary

HCL Technologies Limited in Amsterdam seeks a seasoned Engineering Management leader to drive microservices and event-driven architectures across multiple squads. You will own tech design, DevOps pipelines, and delivery governance in a fast-moving transformation.

The role requires building scalable backend services with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and cloud services while collaborating with Product, Architecture, Data teams, and client stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years leading large teams.
• Deep expertise in microservices and event-driven systems.
• Hands-on cloud experience on GCP or Ali Cloud.
• Strong backend focus using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Proven CI/CD and DevOps practice delivery in production.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Database proficiency across PostgreSQL/MySQL; NoSQL awareness.
• Familiarity with API design and integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce Dev & QE best practices across squads.
• Own tech design and implementation approach.
• Establish and operate DevOps pipelines and practices.
• Accountable for sprint execution and capacity planning.
• Coordinate release management with the client and cross-functional teams.
• Drive Go/No-Go decisions with stakeholders and oversee production cutover.
