TAF B.V. in Eindhoven, Netherlands, seeks an experienced Java developer to lead and mentor, designing scalable microservices and robust RESTful APIs. You will work on complex parts, balance leadership with hands-on coding, and ensure quality gates stay green. Strong communication in English is essential.

You will collaborate with product and architecture teams in an informal, high-output environment, delivering reliable software while prioritizing maintainability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Java development, including experience in a senior or lead role.
• You’re proactive. You don't need a manual; you see a problem and you start drafting a solution.
• You understand how microservices talk to each other, how to handle concurrency and how to design a database schema (PostgreSQL) that won't crawl under pressure.
• You don't consider a feature "done" until it’s tested and the quality gates are green.
• You can explain complex tech to a non-technical Product Manager without losing them and you can provide feedback to a dev in a way that helps them grow.
• Strong expertise in Java (17+), Spring (Boot), JEE, JPA and ORM frameworks
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles and clean code
• Solid knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and API contracts
• Strong testing mindset with experience in JUnit, Mockito, REST-assured (and similar tools)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g. Maven, Git, Jenkins, Docker)
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Ability to write clean, scalable, concurrent, and maintainable code
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to influence and guide others
