Job summary

Maersk in the Netherlands is seeking a senior engineering leader to lead a squad building AI-powered digital twins and optimization-enabled planning tools across vessel, yard, gate and rail workflows. You will own delivery, review designs, mentor engineers and align the roadmap with ROIC.

You will work hands-on in architecture, grow a high-performing team and turn platform plans into production systems that move ROIC. This is a high-impact role blending technical depth with business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or data engineering.
• 3+ years leading engineers who ship AI/ML systems to production with measurable business impact.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python/R data science ecosystems, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern MLOps.
• Practical experience with optimization (MILP/CP), simulation, predictive analytics or industrial IoT in logistics, manufacturing or infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• You will lead a squad of 6-10 engineers and data scientists, setting priorities and delivering high-quality results.
• Own delivery of AI-powered digital twins, integrated planning systems and operations research models across vessel, yard, gate and rail workflows.
• Review designs, unblock engineers, and make sound build decisions while coaching and growing your team.
• Collaborate with product owners, operations experts and peer squads to land integrated outcomes and translate roadmap into sprint plans.
