Workwize seeks an Engineering Lead for Finance & Internal Tools to own the delivery of billing, invoicing and internal platforms. You will lead a small, high-impact team, balance hands-on coding with mentoring, and work closely with Product, Operations and Finance.

You will report to the Engineering Manager, scale the team, drive roadmap execution, enforce quality through code reviews and testing, and collaborate with senior leadership across the business.

Competenze

• 5+ years as a software engineer, including 1–2 years managing engineers with direct reports.
• Experience handling performance issues: setting expectations, giving hard feedback and supporting someone who is struggling.
• Leadership style that can switch between directing and coaching, depending on the situation.
• Confidence to explain and defend your point of view to senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with a modern web stack. We use Laravel (PHP), Node.js, React, Filament and MySQL.
• A track record of delivering B2B web products end to end, working with non-technical colleagues.
• Daily use of AI tools in your development work.
• Clear written and spoken English (Dutch is not needed).

• Lead and grow your engineers through 1:1s, clear feedback and growth plans.
• Set a clear bar for performance, and act early when someone is not meeting it.
• Own delivery of the team's roadmap and keep progress, risks and blockers visible.
• Plan the roadmap and quarterly goals with Product, Operations and Finance, including what we say no to.
• Run planning, refinement and retros, and represent the team in talks with other teams.
• Keep standards high on code review, testing, monitoring, security and incident follow-up.
• Hire new engineers for your team.
