Job summary

ING is looking for an IT Chapter Lead to guide the Mortgages ILX Tech Management team. You will coach and lead about 90 engineers across the Netherlands and globally, translating ING and Mortgages NL ambitions into objectives for the ILX Area and driving timely delivery.

You will lead engineering chapters, drive growth and excellence, shape the engineering community and ensure scalable, secure platforms with AI-driven innovation. Hybrid working and cross-border collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering with Java ecosystem
• Experience with high-load distributed systems
• Proven people leadership and coaching experience
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across countries
• Strong technology curiosity including AI and emerging trends
• Strategic mindset focused on scalability and impact

Responsibilities

• Lead a chapter of engineers spread across multiple teams
• Drive chapter growth and engineering excellence
• Contribute to Engineering Community and strategic direction
• Serve as SPOC of area level technology topics
• Define and deliver on the product roadmap in collaboration with Product Lead
• Drive operational excellence, availability, scalability and performance
