Job Description

Role Overview

The EMENA Regulatory Affairs Manager oversees regulatory compliance and affairs for the business group across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. This position acts as the primary expert on EU frameworks, driving product compliance strategies while aligning with business growth initiatives. The role balances high-level strategic management of regulatory portfolios with active, hands-on operational oversight of certifications, audits, and committee representation to ensure product market access and support top-line sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Strategy & Compliance

  • Manage and execute regulatory strategies, including the coordination of submissions, approvals, and portfolio maintenance across European markets.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on EU regulatory frameworks, directives, and legislative changes affecting the business group.
  • Lead the transition and preparation for emerging requirements, specifically focusing on environmental and sustainability mandates (e.g., CPR, LCA, EPD, and DPP).
  • Provide technical regulatory guidance and review papers to support international markets, including India, Korea, Australia, South Africa, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Japan.

Committee Representation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the company in critical industry committees and regulatory bodies, including WG3, CH239, BSI, ARTSM, REMA, and ERF groups.
  • Mirror committee work to ensure internal strategies align with industry standards (e.g., Road Sign and Workzone requirements), providing support to national representatives (e.g., NEN, NBN, DIN).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Legal to maintain comprehensive compliance documentation and execute service initiatives.

Operational Excellence & Audits

  • Manage the full audit lifecycle for multiple third-party certifiers (e.g., TUV, Ascquer, UTAC, and Silninci Vyvof). This includes coordinating site visits for facilities in the US, Europe, and Asia, and ensuring readiness for CE, ECE/UN104, NF, and TPESC-B certifications.
  • Oversee operational compliance activities, such as managing ink specifications for TJ printers, addressing out-of-spec issues with external laboratories, and updating local test reports.
  • Maintain active compliance for specific regional requirements, such as annual SASO 2913 certifications for Saudi Arabia and triennial Calcoast certificate tracking.

Business Development & Growth

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to drive top-line growth, identify unmet customer needs, and develop technical solutions that deliver on sales targets.
  • Support the sales force by providing technical expertise, analyzing regulatory impacts, and developing strategies to maximize sales of both new and existing products in current and new markets.
  • Develop and present insights on market trends (e.g., Vision Zero / 20mph/30kph programs) to internal sales teams to capitalize on regulatory shifts.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Law, or a related scientific/technical discipline.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in regulatory affairs within a manufacturing or relevant industrial sector in Europe.
  • Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks, directives, and compliance standards, with specific expertise in managing third-party testing and accredited laboratory relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset to interpret complex legal and technical regulations and manage high-stakes compliance documentation.
  • Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and represent the company effectively in high-level committee meetings.
