Job summary

Imec The Netherlands is seeking an experienced R&D Manager Embedded Software to lead two embedded software teams across Eindhoven and Wageningen. You will combine people leadership with technical vision to turn research into impactful solutions for healthcare, connectivity and daily life.

You will drive staffing, capability development and cross-functional collaboration with researchers and business stakeholders, shaping the competence roadmap and ensuring delivery excellence in a dynamic R&D

Qualifications

MSc in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience in embedded software development with a track record in leading engineering teams.
Strong background in modern embedded software systems, architectures, tools and processes.
Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus; ability to coach and grow international teams.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop embedded software engineers and technical leaders across two sites (Eindhoven and Wageningen).
Drive staffing, recruitment and capability development to build diverse, future-ready teams.
Guide project execution, resource planning and engineering excellence across multiple R&D programs.
Shape the embedded software competence roadmap aligned with future technologies and market opportunities.
Collaborate with researchers, project leaders and business stakeholders to translate innovation into real-world impact.
