Job summary

Insyght IoT in Delft designs and builds IoT products from idea to production, combining hardware, firmware, apps and cloud in a compact team. As an Embedded Software Engineer you develop firmware for new and existing devices, collaborating with hardware and software colleagues across the full development cycle.

You will work with C or C++, sometimes Python, on microcontrollers such as Nordic nRF and STM32, implement drivers and stacks, test on real hardware, and contribute to architecture,

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of embedded software experience
• Proficient in C or C++ and Python
• Experience with microcontrollers and debugging
• Willing to work in Dutch and English
• Based in or near Delft

Job description

Insyght builds IoT products in Delft, from the first sketch to production runs. Hardware, firmware, apps and cloud, in one small team at YES!Delft.

As an Embedded Software Engineer you work on firmware for new and existing IoT products. You work closely with our hardware engineers and software developers, and you are involved across the whole development process.

Junior to medior (0 to about 3 years). Full-time or part-time. Delft.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain embedded software in C or C++
• Work with microcontrollers such as Nordic nRF, STM32 or similar
• Implement and debug drivers, communication stacks and application logic
• Work alongside hardware engineers during board bring-up and debugging
• Think along about architecture, performance and power consumption
• Test and validate firmware on real hardware
• Document your code and the technical choices behind it

You are

• Zero to a few years into embedded software development
• Good at C and/or C++, plus Python
• Familiar with microcontrollers, peripherals and embedded debugging
• Interested in hardware and low-level software
• Structured, and you want to keep learning
• Able to work on your own, and you actively look for collaboration
• Good in both Dutch and English
• Living in or near Delft

Nice to have, not required

• An RTOS such as Zephyr or FreeRTOS
• Git and modern development tools
