Job summary

ALTEN Nederland is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement and maintain embedded software for projects across the Netherlands. The role involves low-level driver development, board bring-up, and close collaboration with hardware engineers to validate system behavior.

We expect strong embedded C/C++ skills, experience with RTOS and embedded Linux or bare-metal systems, and proven debugging abilities with standard tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience in embedded C/C++ development.
• Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, QNX, AUTOSAR) and embedded Linux or bare-metal.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded software and firmware.
• Develop low-level drivers and interfaces for microcontrollers or SoCs.
• Support board bring-up, hardware integration, and system debugging.
• Work with hardware engineers to define and validate system behaviour.
• Optimize software for performance, memory usage, power, and timing.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Help improve development processes and engineering best practices.
