Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to own technical projects in MARIN's maritime research environment, focusing on electrical engineering and automation systems.

You will design, develop, test and implement advanced solutions, coordinate stakeholders and drive project deliverables to completion with a hands-on, pragmatic approach. Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and travel for project execution are expected.

Qualifications

Job description

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will take ownership of technical projects and work closely with specialists from various disciplines. You are expected to be proactive, ask critical questions, coordinate stakeholders and turn technical challenges into practical solutions.

This position is primarily focused in maritime research, on electrical engineering and automation systems rather than pure systems engineering. You will contribute to the design, development, testing and implementation of advanced technical solutions used within MARIN's research and testing environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical and automation systems.
• Create electrical schematics, block diagrams and single-line diagrams.
• Select components and support procurement activities.
• Provide technical input for quotations and project proposals.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Work with industrial communication protocols and automation networks.
• Coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Travel when required for project execution and testing activities.
• Take ownership of project deliverables and drive them to completion.

Your profile

Education

• HBO/Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Automotive Engineering.
• A minor, specialisation or demonstrable affinity with Embedded Systems is highly preferred.

Technical background

We are looking for an engineer with experience in automation technologies and the design of automation systems. A background in vehicle technology, automotive systems, mobile machinery, heavy equipment or comparable mechatronic platforms is a strong advantage.
