Job summary

Lam Research in Enschede, Netherlands is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. You will analyze equipment, run tests, and evaluate results to deliver reliable, cutting-edge systems.

You will contribute to Prestis, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior colleagues while preparing clear design reviews and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s with 6+ years’ experience.
• Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital) and signal/controls theory.
• Understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
• In-depth system-level understanding of electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
• Excellent PCB and low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
• CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (PCAD, ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, Spice, ADS, HFSS).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop highly complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
• Contribute to R&D efforts for future products by data collection and analysis to improve electrical system designs.
• Develop functional specifications for complex electrical/electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify system components.
• Perform hands-on test and validation using lab equipment to characterize performance.
• Prepare high-quality reports and presentations communicating design intent, analyses and results.
• Act as a resource and mentor for junior colleagues.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team at Lam Research in Enschede, the Netherlands.

Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.

In this role, you will directly contribute to Prestis.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop highly complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
• Contributes to research and development efforts for future products by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
• Develops functional specifications for highly complex electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
• Perform hands‑on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
• Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
• Acts as a resource and mentor for more junior colleagues.

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), signal and controls theory, development and associated electrical board design, troubleshooting and validation.
• Understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
• In depth system level understanding of Electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
• Excellent working knowledge in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
• Expertise in application of power and controls technologies for systems automation.
• Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g., PCAD, ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, Spice, ADS, HFSS).

Preferred qualifications

• Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
• Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, reliability.
• Highly proficient at troubleshooting systems with tools like network sniffers, protocol analyzers, and tool logs.
• Experience in troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, 8D, fishbones, etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical presentations.
• Experience in semiconductor industry or related (industrial, automotive, military).

'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
