Job summary

Us3 Consulting is seeking a Freelance Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation Project Engineer for a hybrid role based in the Southwest Netherlands. The contract is initially 6 months with scope for extension.

The candidate should own technical packages and coordinate with site teams, contractors, and equipment suppliers to move projects from design review through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or complex industrial environments would be valuable.
• Willingness to attend site under hybrid arrangement (Netherlands/Belgium).

Freelance Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation Project Engineer

Location: Southwest Netherlands | Hybrid

Contract: Initial 6 months, with plenty of scope to extend

Working pattern: Full time preferred; part time considered

Us3 Consulting is looking for a freelance Project Engineer to support electrical, instrumentation and automation work for a large international manufacturing business. The role would suit someone who can take ownership of technical packages while working closely with site teams, contractors and equipment suppliers.

You will help move projects from design review through installation, testing, commissioning and handover. The work includes coordinating electrical and automation interfaces, reviewing supplier deliverables, resolving technical issues and keeping documentation and project close-out on track.

We’re interested in experience across:

• LV/MV distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS or backup power systems
• PLC/SCADA, instrumentation and control system interfaces
• Managing contractors, OEMs and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover
• Technical reviews, quality checks and project documentation

Experience in manufacturing or another complex industrial environment would be valuable. Candidates based in the Netherlands or Belgium are welcome, provided they can attend site as needed under the hybrid arrangement.
