Job summary

X4 Life Sciences, a Netherlands-based manufacturer within a multinational specialty group, seeks an E&I Engineer to own electrical and instrumentation engineering for process projects and factory modifications, bridging design and execution.

As the primary E&I contact in the Automation & Engineering team, you will generate engineering packages, review designs, oversee contractors from design through installation, and support cross-disciplinary project teams on instrumentation, valves and pumps.

Qualifications

• HBO-level qualification required (Dutch higher professional education).
• 3–5 years E&I engineering experience in process industries.
• Experience managing contractors and reviewing designs.
• Strong knowledge of high- and low-voltage systems, specs and troubleshooting.
• Able to converse in Dutch (spoken).
• On-site 4–5 days a week, with one work-from-home day permitted.
• Flexible, pragmatic and proactive approach.
• Comfortable working across multidisciplinary project teams.

Job description

The client is a Netherlands-based manufacturer of chemical products, part of a larger multinational specialty ingredients group. The role sits within a 7-person Automation & Engineering department, and the E&I Engineer acts as the department's primary electrical & instrumentation contact for process and factory-modification projects.

About the Role

The E&I Engineer owns electrical & instrumentation engineering for industrial process projects and factory modifications, bridging design and execution. They are the primary E&I point of contact within the Automation & Engineering team and manage contractor oversight from design through to installation.

Responsibilities

• Generate engineering packages and define scope for E&I contractors
• Quality assurance of E&I contractor deliverables and designs
• Review and approve E&I designs
• Work with process and automation teams on instrumentation, valve and pump selection
• Troubleshoot E&I installations on-site as needed
• Develop and manage QA plans for E&I project components

Qualifications

• HBO-level qualification (Dutch higher professional education, roughly equivalent to a UK Bachelor's)
